Everyone's laughing at Minnesota this season for the dubious assets they gave up to land Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz. Have fans just got no patience nowadays or should the front office go back to to the lab?

The wolves have a 29-28 record through 57 games, good enough for 9th spot in the west - a shot at making the playoffs. Let's focus on Rudy.
First of all, anything less than being a Defensive Player Of The Year candidate was going to be seen as a failure for Gobert after the trade went through, and he's so far off the mark. Unless something really changes I'm not even sure he'll make an all defensive team. He hasn't been a liability defensively, but he hasn't been the regular season Utah Jazz Frenchman we've seen over the last five years.
Now you might give him the benefit of the doubt, 'he must have improved on other levels?' I hear you say. Well he has improved in one stat this season compared to last - personal fouls. The only number that is higher than last season. You can really see why the fans are crying into their jerseys at this one.
Will they try and move him?
I doubt it, that would be admitting defeat to early. They should at least see how next season plays out - they'll probably try and move Dlo Russell before the deadline on Thursday; he's a free agent in the summer and they should try and get something for him before he goes for nothing. But Gobert stays out in my opinion, I can't see any team putting forward a trade to make the wolves front office tempted.
Karl-Anthony Towns has been injured for at least half the games this season too; which for sure would help the Wolves' case - but not Rudy's. I think he's just gotta hold his hands up and hope he doesn't see his name on Shams' Twitter anytime soon.
All things said I think the experiment failed; Minnesota gave up too much to begin with and Gobert hasn't performed as a player of his calibre should, but don't blow it up yet. You'll look even stupider than you already do.
This man on the other hand will probably end up having all the power next year so you'd better be on his good side..... #antman
The 21 year old is quickly becoming a superstar with the Wolves, averaging 24.7, 4.6 and 6 whilst leading the league in total points and putting on a show night in night out.
The wolves are gonna struggle to keep him if they don't secure winning ways when it's time to sign his rookie extension, he just has too much potential and faith in himself to succeed to settle for teammates not performing at their top level.
We'll have to see if they make any moves before the deadline.
